Amanda Cunha currently works as a Social Intervention Worker at Aproximar, a Social Solidarity Cooperative, supporting young people experiencing social and economic vulnerability. She holds a degree in Theatre from the Institute of Arts of São Paulo State University (IA-UNESP, Brazil) and a Master’s degree in Communication, Art and Culture from the University of Minho, Portugal, which was one of the main reasons for her move from Brazil to Portugal in 2019. Across both countries, her professional experience has combined arts education, cultural production, education, and social intervention. Since 2025, she has been an alumna of Teach For Portugal, following a two-year programme in which she worked as a pedagogical mentor in a school serving a vulnerable community, exploring the integration of theatre and pedagogical methodologies in the classroom. Her current work focuses on developing life skills and promoting the personal and social development of young people from vulnerable backgrounds. As a researcher, she explored the construction of white racial identity and perceptions of racial privilege, with a focus on challenging racial prejudice. Her interdisciplinary background in the arts, education, and social intervention informs her commitment to inclusion, participation, and social transformation.
