Hakan Altınay

Hakan is the Director of the European School of Politics in Istanbul. Previously, he has held positions at the Brookings Institution, Carnegie Council and Yale University. His writings have appeared in The Economist, Financial Times, International Herald Tribune, New York Times, and Project Syndicate. His published books are Global Civics (2011, available in English with Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish translations) and Civic (2023, available in Turkish). He has been an Amnesty International Prisoner of Conscience and has recently been released from prison.
