Ingrid Aspelund

Ingrid Aspelund is currently Acting Executive Director at the European Wergeland Centre (EWC). She usually serves as Deputy Director and Head of the Youth Section, where she leads efforts to strengthen young people’s confidence in democratic institutions and shared values. Her expertise includes youth participation, democratic resilience, and the prevention of hate and extremism.

Since 2016, she has been responsible for EWC’s collaboration with Utøya and the 22 July Center, developing national and international educational programs in response to the 2011 terrorist attacks.

Aspelund holds a Master’s in International and Multicultural Education and a Bachelor’s in Development Studies from OsloMet. She previously worked as a campaign advisor for the No Hate Speech Movement and led Norwegian People’s Aid Solidarity Youth from 2015 to 2017.
