
Ole Jantschek
Ole Jantschek is National Director of the Protestant Network for Civic Youth Education and Acting Secretary General of the Protestant Academies in Germany. He studied International Relations and Eastern European Studies in Dresden, Lausanne, Krakow, and Berlin, building a strong foundation for his later work at the intersection of civic education and European civil society. His expertise lies in non-formal education on democracy, diversity, digitalisation, and European citizenship. With a passion for creativity and cross-sectoral collaboration, he develops innovative concepts and formats for civic education, including pioneering approaches in game-based learning. As a facilitator, trainer, and advisor, he has supported numerous organisations in shaping effective educational strategies and fostering inclusive democratic participation. Ole is also spokesperson of GEMINI, a nationwide network representing around 1,750 non-formal youth education institutions in Germany, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal for Civic Education. Beyond Germany, he has long been active in European youth exchange and cross-border dialogue. From 2009 to 2020, he chaired the Kreisau Initiative, and since 2017, he has been Co-Chairman of the Polish Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe.
