Winfried Kneip is also the initiator and co-founder of Love Politics. Besides, he is a member of the board of the European Forum Alpbach Foundation. He works in the fields of democracy, culture and education and co-founded the organisations “CommunAid”, “Fabelhafte Helden” and “Die Radikalen Töchter”. In 2020, he co-initiated “Anstoß Demokratie”, a tri-national hub for democratic culture. Until the end of 2020, he was Managing Director of the Stiftung Mercator, responsible for the topics of integration, education, culture and democracy. There, he developed nationwide programs such as „Kulturagenten“, „Ruhr Futur“, „Experts Council on Integration and Migration“ and „Experts Council on Arts Education“. From 2003 to 2009, he led the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Germany as Managing Director.
